COPFC christmas annual parties
Each December we get the whole futsal family together to celebrate away from the court. Players have the opportunity to be themselves and play young and old!
2017 - We hired out Activity World for an evening of fun 2018 - We hired out Bounce Trampoline park 2019 - We formed a partnership with Bounce and hosted a second 2020 - Sadly no Christmas party due to Covid-19 pandemic. Although COPFC facilitate the event parents hugely support us by purchasing tickets to the party to cover the costs of the venue hire and Christmas gifts for all the players. All members bring an item of food for them where we then create a buffet for everyone to enjoy. At our Christmas events this is where our player of the year awards are handed out. COPFC Christmas feteOur first ever Christmas fete was a huge success. We appreciate all the support from our locals it really means a lot especially to the young players who you supported. By supporting them they had the most memorable trip to Barcelona they could of ever wished for.
Our Christmas fete had activities for all ages! We had a toddler room which was a huge success with soft play, faceprinting, arts and crafts and music for them to all enjoy in a safe environment. For our older players we had world champion freestyle footballer John Farnworth attend and deliver two workshops for our players to learn new skills. He also delivered a showcase event in the main hall and signed photos, footballs, shoes and players shirts! How exciting?! In the food hall we had cake stalls, hot dogs, tombolas, boot swaps and local businesses stalls. We will definitely be looking to run more fetes in the future. COPFC & PEterborough phantomsOur players received the special treatment as VIP's at a Peterborough Phantoms ice hockey fixture. Our players were the first to walk out onto the ice, clapping, waving flags and clapping while the teams entered the ice.
We had some very nervous players but they absolutely loved their ice hockey experience and have asked when can we do it again. There was a sea of orange around the rink and the players brought a fantastic atmosphere smiling and cheering the players on. They had great banter with the mascot and cause mischief as always where ever we go! Safe to say it was definitely a favourite social trip from players and their adults! copfc sponsored walkStan from our U10 boys came up with the idea he was going to do a sponsored 5K while dribbling a ball to help support and raise funds for his team mates to go to Barcelona to compete in the Top 12 Cup.
As a club we recognised this as such a selfless act from a 9 year old. We then secretly encouraged other players to get involved and support their team mate. We had a great group running, walking and dribbling around Ferry Meadows clocking those miles to raise money! Along the Way we bumped into young members of the futsal family who joined in and cycled around with us. We lost count of the amount of footballs we lost in the water! Oops! |
