Player of the year 2019
A huge well done to all of our players during 2019, our club has gone from strength to strength and we are season amazing development from all of our players! We can’t wait to see what 2020 brings us in terms of development! Our 2019 player of the year winners;
Tiny tots Saturday - Kaiden throughout the year has become a more confident little boy, excellent listening skills and is able to demonstrate simple movements such as ‘elephants’ (toe taps) ‘snakes’ (step overs) and his favourite ‘penguins’ (inside to inside). Always smiley and giggly too!!
Tiny tots Sunday - Now George has been with us since we started this new session and he has been fantastic from day one. Always keen to try new things and he loves to demonstrate to his team mates. George is also very social in his session and enjoys playing and joining in with his team mates.
Mighty tots (he’s now moved to mega tots) - Leo Leo is a very quiet character who often tends to sit/stand at the back but he has not gone unnoticed! Leo takes everything in his stride and always gives 100%. Leo has shown great ability with his close ‘tiny kicks’ he is currently training with players a year older than him due to his great listening and want to learn!
Mega tots - Louie has been with us since a tiny tot back in the day! He has grown into such a kind little man with the love for a ‘chop’ (Ronaldo chop). Louie has demonstrated a great understanding of futsal sessions and has great control using the sole of his foot especially when it’s time to ‘freeze’. Louie’s challenge for 2020 is to join in with the big matches at the end of each session!!
U6’s - Bertie has moved with his friends from Mega tots to form our U6’S! He really has taken this in his stride as change and the demand for U6 sessions can be challenging! Bertie is beginning to show a high level of skill within his futsal, leadership and an all round desire to want the ball. He has also played up with our U7’s and did fantastic!!
U7’s -Ben has been training twice a week with us and his want to learn is second to none. He is always keen to ask questions and answer questions which shows he wants to learn. Ben has naturally picked futsal up extremely well working on the ball manipulation with the sole, movement on and off the ball and also those second post goals!
U8’s - When Marquez first started with us he wanted the ball and would do anything to ensure he has the ball at all times. Marquez has developed his ball manipulation and is able to beat a player often. What has impressed his coaches the most is his development in becoming a team player. Marquez will now beat a player with his head up looking what his next option is, he is happy to also cover and help his team mates. All round Futsal player in the making.
U9’s - Max.. he has recently impressed with his ability to take a whole team on.. in training max always gives 100% during training drills showcasing his ability to move a ball, find space and want that ball back. During fixtures Max has shown his ability to play as a ‘fix’ but also the ability to beat players before either shooting or moving the ball for a better option. He has also become a very positive team mate who is supporting others!
U10’s - Ollie is a different boy, his flair on the ball, work rate to win the ball back, the ability to use team mates and then move to support them. Ollie has shown us just how confident he is when he steps foot on that futsal court. Ollie is also able to identify what’s happening in the game, whats going wrong / right and what do we need to do to change it / be better. I can’t wait to see what he produces in Barcelona!
U11’s - Henry has been our most improved player in 2019. Training 2-4 hours a week with us Henry has shown his true futsal colours. Each session and fixture Henry gives 100%. Everyone needs a Henry on their team. He’s extremely calm on the ball, able to move it or beat a player when needed. He is the first team mate to help you our if you get in trouble / lose the ball. Henry will be attending Barcelona with us and this experience will enhance henrys development even more!
U12’s - Sam can be a very shy character but seems to be brought out on the futsal court. Over the last few months we have seen a real development in Sam, Sam is wanting to be on the ball, taking a lead in group discussions and scoring hatricks in training games!! Can’t forget his sleek passing around the court!
U13’s - Leo has demonstrated he is a true leader and a player to look up to. Leo is calm on the ball and is able to control the game and keep it at the correct tempo. Leo’s understanding of futsal has developed over the last couple of months with his on and off the ball movements and recognition on whether to press or half court. Leo also trained with the u14’s during 2019 to enhance his development further and this gained him the opportunity to participate in a fixture day at U14 level.
U14’s -Max is an extremely intense player who enjoys playing at a high intensity for the duration he is on the court. In training we receive maximum effort from max (most of the time). Max has proven he has the ability to play futsal at a very good level now competing in a futsal league once a month we hope he keeps enjoying futsal as that’s the main part for development. Max is a great team mate and always there to help others out and has recently been recognised as a pretty handy goal keeper!!
Younger Wildcats - Sophia With two older brothers at the club Sophia thought it was time! Sophia is a fantastic character, energetic and wants to learn! Although she is super hyper at our wildcats sessions she has demonstrated her real talent during our session, keen to join in, keen to learn and keen to win! Pleasure to coach!
Older Wildcats - Caitlyn trains twice a week with us and I must say her futsal development has rocketed. Caitlyn first came to join after a tournament with the school and being completely new she started off shy. Now Caitlyn is a lively character, keen to learn, helps others without being asked to, good team mate and has the desire to learn!
U9/10 Girls - Ava has been with the club now a couple of years, training 2-4 hours a week with COPFC. Safe to say Ava has developed extreme amounts here at the club and is a very confident player who every enjoys to watch (unless she’s on the floor!!). Ava plays at a high intensity for the whole time she is on the court. A great team mate to help others out and also keen to learn. Ava was made for futsal here at COPFC! We look forward to Ava learning and developing from her national experience and also Barcelona!
U11/12/13 Girls - Holly is becoming a real role model for the girls and a player for them to aspire to be. She is selfless, has fantastic feet and loves to play the game quick at a high intensity. Holly has a desire to learn and also support her team mates, Holly is a pleasure to coach and her future in futsal is bright! (I hear talks of an england ladies team could we have a COPFC player there in years to come). Holly will lead her team to the Nationals in January and also Barcelona in February. These will be Two huge events we hope will aid Holly’s development in all areas.
